Survival

How to survive? - During a conversation a friend once told me that, “I don’t know where life’s headed. I don’t know how to survive.” It some how stayed in my mind and I wondered why in the smallest of situations we feel so terrified of the uncertainties of life because we are not very sure what it has to offer! I have always associated the word survival for a big trauma; mostly life or death situations but seeing everyone around, even the smallest uncertainties have now become a matter of survival. Has life become so hard on us? Or are we taking life way to seriously?

Well whatever the reason might be I feel we need to first figure out what we want to do and believe in our abilities to achieve what we want. Because in order to survive what we are faced with we need to believe that we can! As they say “if he brings you to it, he will bring you through it.” So till it doesn’t get too big, don’t give your self a hard time. Trust your instincts and give your life some time to throw the best opportunity at you and go after what you really want to do. Because I have always believed and I know its true that, “when you want something with all your heart the entire universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” And as life unfolds what it has in store for you remember to do things that keep you happy and positive because in the end - it’s the journey that counts!

And remember to:

  • Smile
  • Celebrate yourself
  • See the best in others
  • Be the best you can be
  • Experiment
  • Look for opportunities instead of thinking about what couldn’t happen
  • Inspire yourself
  • Look for beauty; it’s all around you
  • Sit back and reflect on your life time to time
  • Learn from your failures, they are your stepping-stones to success!
  • Believe in yourself, because if you don’t know one else will!
  • Take chances
  • Laugh till your stomach hurts.
  • Be silly at times, it’s fun!
  • Have a great conversation
  • A hot shower
  • Show LOVE - because a warm hug is more comforting than words.
  • Cry your heart out when you want to; it makes you feel lighter.
  • Trust God!
  • Always remember you are special
  • Never give up!

Emotionally Practical?

Why when thinking of relationships people are expected to be practical when we are not expected to be emotional in practical situations? Why are emotions taken as a baggage when they are the essence of our being? Why is being emotional considered not so right when happiness is the sole goal of our lives? It’s the emotions we all strive for in life! Until and unless you don’t consider the want to be successful, ambition, aggression, happiness and joy to be emotions then it’s a different story.

It’s the emotions that are the foundation on a strong relationship of any kind.  So why is that relationships need to always be under the practical eye of the society? I wonder why people always have to make a choice of who or why they want to be with someone on the basis of the rules laid down or on the basis of what’s the most practical solution? Ask yourself these questions: was falling in love based on a practical choice? Or are all my dreams practically possible? If not then why do all the choices follow need to be practical? When we dare to dream big or take the leap of love, it’s a risk… that too a risk of emotions yet when we feel it within its worth the jump!

Is it so hard to trust our hearts strongest feelings and our griping intuitions compared to the so called rules laid down by the people of our society… each of who secretly wishes to follow their own heart! Why is it so hard to have faith in ourselves but so easy to scum to the preset ideologies. Is it because we don’t want to be blamed if something goes wrong, or the fear of taking the responsibility of our own decisions or simply the fear of standing up against those ideologies set by the people.

There is no logical explanation for these questions as it’s the matter of emotions, which are not based on the so-called practical rules of the society. Nothings black or white so no matter how much something sounds like the right thing to do it can be completely wrong and no matter how practical you get one can never be truly happy if your hearts not in it! So before taking the highway of practicality jumping into the ocean of emotions and risking all you have give your heart and mind a rationale chance.
